jajajaja....this video is hilariously funny...however, beyond a joke, I guess it's trying to show us that sometimes we make a fuss about nothing...also the idea that it's great to ask for help without being too proud to admit there're things we don't know.

But, really, I can't stop thinking about it as a parody of people nowadays who are just learning to deal with a computer (to be more precise...as I watch this I see my grandma and myself :P -she's taking computing classes this year and makes exactly the same questions-lol)

ahahah! I got a real kick out of watching this video...so funny..and original too! I never thought about how difficult must have been, and still is, to accept some technological advances..and the uneasiness some pp may experience when they don't have a clue about how a new gadget works..

As María said, that reminds me of my grandmother and her fear to the computer!
Very funny video. It makes us think about the advance of technology! and that WE ARE LIVING IN THE FUTURE!! HAHAHA!

short but meaningful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i really like the video for it was funny!! Personally, the author wants us realize that we should help people in a polite way when they do not know how to deal with technology. For instance, we have to bear in mind that it is a great effort for old people to understand how the system works. As they sometimes feel out of the system, we should be patient and teach them calmly. Besides, all of us has the opportunity to learn no matter if yuo are joung or old, rich or poor.

I enjoyed a lot watching this video. It was funny!!It made me remember my mother with the computer.I try to teach her the way that she must use it but it´s impossible for her to retain all the information. She asks the same question many times and like the man in the video she is insecure and seems to feel afraid.
We can compare the computer at the moment with the book in the past. When they both appeared, they seemed to be difficult to use. But,in fact, they were not difficult. I think the clue is in "human beings" because the majority of people refuse to use new things. All inventions were and are seen as complex and unmanageable things.
The book was, for our generations, something simple and easy to use since it was invented many years ago. We need no help to use one of them. The same happens with children nowadays, they are born and, without any previous knowledge, they sit down in front of a computer and use it as if they were experts.

what happens to the man in the video is very common nowadays especially among adults. Some of them have difficulties when dealing with the new technologies. There are those people who prefer traditional methods such as paper and pen rather than the computer. However, others use technological devices in order to save time.Children are well acquainted with technology. As a consequence, I am convinced that teachers have the obligation to know how it works.

nice video! really like it. It's an original way to show that learning to use technology is not as easy as it may seem...besides, the questions the man does about how to use the book are curiously similar to those most adults (at least the ones I know, je) do about computers!

jaja...It's an extremely witty and amusing video! It draws a parallel between past times and nowadays world. Noticing that, we can deduce that society hasn't changed so much... as it seems sometimes... In my opinion, it tries to show us that nowadays, it's really difficult for some people to get to know how new technological devices work. That situation makes them feel frustrated as they are inexperineced in dealing with scientific advances. Thus, some people back off a little because they don't know how to cope with technology. However, I've found this type of humor helps us to see the funny side of things. And that's a good thing because I consider it fruitful to learn from a past mistake or a difficult situation...

It’s a really amusing video!! What happens to the man is similar to what elder people have to face up nowadays when trying to use the new technologies. But I’m a bit concerned in the way that we are so focused on technology that we lay off reading books. Probably, the main message of the video is that so much technology is going to bring about the ‘death’ of books.

Liliana!the last comment is from melina marengo..I've got to change my name jaja

jeje! I really enojoyed watching it. Although it's a bit silly, I think it has a meaning behind it. From my point of view, it's about how difficult is for us to addapt ourselves to new realities developed mainly by the implementation of technological and scientific advances!!!

...ja!...funny and sad at the same time, isn't it?...it gives you an idea of how many people feel today...they're overwhelmed by the major changes they have to undergo...but there's no doubt we have to giv it a try, at least, I have...

Liliana dijo...

Hey Maria! Yes! I know what you mean about your grandma!! My father does the same and according to my son.. I do also! je je

Liliana dijo...

Hi Gisela!!! Yeah! The video is a good tool to make us think about how difficult it is for some people to welcome technology into their lives!
I love this video too!

Liliana dijo...

Julieta, the worst part is that the video sometimes reminds me of myself!!!! je je
it's hard to keep up with technology! we always seem to be out of date!

Liliana dijo...

Yes Sofía!!! Patience is probably the key, not only to helping someone with technology but also to teaching anything!
A quality teachers should have, isnt't it?

Liliana dijo...

You are so right Florencia! Most human beings have a tendency to reject new things just because they make us feel afraid of the unknown! And it happens not only with technology but with most situations in life. But.... it is also rewarding to feel we can move forward!

Liliana dijo...

Yes Virgi! I agree with you! Children find it soooo easy to work with computers. It's natural to them! So.. there's one more thing we can lear from them!!

Liliana dijo...

hey Meli!!! yes! funny questions the monk asks but quite similar to ours when new things come up!

Liliana dijo...

You may be right Natalia when you say that the world hasn't changed that much after all!!! Yes, it seems cycles repeat themselves so it's interesting to look back and learn from the past. I agree with you!

Liliana dijo...

Melina... since you can't change your name, I suggest that you start using Melina-ma or something similar so that I know who's writing!
Yes, some new technologies have done away with ways of doing things but I don't think books will disappear, at least not for a long time. The feeling of a book in your hands is just great. We, teachers, can help keeping books alive, which doesn't mean we should turn away from other forms of reading. Challenging! But what would life be without challenges? Boring I guess!

Liliana dijo...

Yes Pao! It really shows how difficult it is for most of us to incorporate new things to our life, though looking back, you may think it was quite silly!

Liliana dijo...

Yes Anto!!! Give it a try, I'm helping you (rather obliging you, eh?). Incorporating new things to our life is not always that easy because we usually fear the unknown.. but it's worth the challenge!!! Congratulations! You are doing very well with technology lately!!
